“I was super inspired to share my favorite nightcap recipe that reduces stress, anxiety, and helps with getting better sleep with the beautiful humans at @thelovelandfoundation

Inspired by the traditional Indian Masala Chai (spiced tea) because I’m obsessed with the flavors, I created Chill Spiced Chai with Ashwagandha to help with lowering anxiety and sleep. It makes the perfect nightcap before winding down for bed, or just when you’re feeling like you need to chill. Instead of using the traditional black tea, my recipe calls for rooibos tea which is caffeine free, again making it great for bedtime.

☕️ Nikisha’s Chill Spiced Chai with Ashwagandha

🔹2 1/2 cups almond or coconut milk (seperated)
🔹1/4 tsp ashwagandha (I used @moonjuice brand)
🔹1/2 cinnamon stick or 1 small cinnamon stick
🔹2 cardamom pods, crushed
🔹1/4th tsp. nutmeg
🔹1/4th tsp. cloves
🔹1 1/2” piece of fresh ginger,; peeled and grated
🔹1/2 tsp. Vanilla Extract
🔹1 rooibos tea bag
🔹2 tbsp all natural organic maple syrup (or sweeten to taste)

🔸Directions:
In a small pot combine ashwagandha, cinnamon stick, cardamom, nutmeg, cloves, fresh ginger, and vanilla extract in 1 cup of plant based milk and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer for 15 minutes. Remove from heat and add rooibos tea bag, and steep for 5 minutes. Return to the stove and add rest of 1 1/2 cup milk, add maple syrup, and bring to a simmer. Strain and serve hot. Enjoy lovelies! “ //
